Known for ‘extreme burgers’ and craft beer, this chain is heading to Johnson County
A garage-theme restaurant chain offering “freshly-made, extreme burger creations and craft beer pairings” is coming to Overland Park.
Sickies Garage Burgers & Brews is taking the former Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews building at 7111 W. 95th St. No opening date was available.
Its burgers include the Wild Hog (with barbecue sauce, two strips of peppered bacon, onion ring and American cheese), the Philly (provolone cheese, green peppers, mushrooms and onions), the Jesse James (with barbecue pork, fried jalapenos, pepper jack cheese and spicy ranch), the Glazed Doughnut (American cheese and peppered bacon on a glazed doughnut bun) and the Sickies Burger (peppered bacon, fried egg, pulled pork, barbecue sauce and American cheese, topped with onion rings and a splash of hot sauce).
It also has chicken wings (with 25 sauce selections), mashed potato bowls, macaroni and cheese bowls, homestyle dinners (such as meatloaf, chopped steak, chicken fried chicken and hot beef sandwiches), Kobe burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, cauliflower wings, fried green beans, cheese curds, nachos and quesadillas. It serves more than 50 craft beers, as well as hand-spun boozy milkshakes.
The Fargo, North Dakota-based casual restaurant was founded in 2012 and now has nine locations in Florida, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota and South Dakota. Two are scheduled to open this summer in Texas.
The decor features car and motorcycle memorabilia.
Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews closed two years ago after 15 years of operation in the building.
